“MAN-O- MAN ! HOW DID YOU DO THAT ?!!!” I heard Dad and Jay laugh and snicker. “Don’t yea know my radio needs that to let the sound come in...That’s how it gets in, right from the top and down the wire !” Boisterous Uncle Lee kept retelling that story between Grace and desert. Mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, dressing, nor turkey just couldn’t stop him. He never forgot that tale and would repeat it on every future visit. Approaching St. Peter’s gate, I just know I’ll hear…“MAN-O- MAN ! HOW DID YOU DO THAT ?!!!”, with the rest of the gang still smiling and snickering. Thanksgiving 1939.

Chapter members (in particular, truck owners): I want to know if anyone in the chapter knows someone or some group that would want to buy and renovate a 1935 Chevy Truck. A non-profit group I belong to has just discovered this vehicle in one of the garages on land they were given as a donation. I am supposed to be given a photograph sometime soon, and I have not been able to verify the year, model, condition. But, I think the group is going to sell it and wanted to know if you could help me connect with someone. Patrick O'Neill 703-244-6275 |
